About the founder

My name is Pedro Rodrigues.

I was born in Lisbon, but I grew up next to the Óbidos Lagoon — a place that has always been part of my life and the way I observe the world.

Between the sea, the pine forests, and the paths around the lagoon, I developed a deep connection with this landscape and the small details that make it unique: the changing tides, the wildlife, the light, and the textures of nature.

Over time, I also explored different forms of creative expression.
I attended the drawing course at the Faculty of Fine Arts, where I deepened my appreciation for the creative process and the observation of the world through drawing.

Later, I completed a specialized course in UX/UI Design at FLAG, in Lisbon, an area that allowed me to develop a more structured way of thinking about design, communication, and the relationship between people and the objects they use.

Photography is also an important part of my journey.
I like to observe and record the landscape of the Óbidos Lagoon — its details, its colors, and the moments that often go unnoticed.

It was from this connection to the place that the idea of creating Bestland was born in 2017.

I wanted to find a way to show the essence of the Óbidos Lagoon and share with others how I see this territory. Clothing became the medium to tell that story.

Each piece is born from this observation — of a trail, a rock, a texture of the sand, or a fragment of the landscape.

More than a clothing brand, Bestland is a way of sharing a place that has deeply impacted me.

Because, ultimately, it all starts here.

In the Óbidos Lagoon.
